She owned Western Auto Store in Union for 19 years. She attended Mississippi Women's College and was the former city clerk of Philadelphia. Barrier, 100, of Union, died Tuesday, June 17, 2003, in Union. at Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. UNION Services for Sarah Euel Barrier will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. Survivors include his wife, Janette Stokes of Louisville daughters, Michelle Register of Rockwood, Tenn., Melissa Pritchett of Louisville and Becky Ellis of Philadelphia sons, Ricky Barfoot and Chuck Barfoot, both of Philadelphia, and Johnny Stokes of Louisville eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Stokes, 71, of Louisville, died Tuesday, June 17, 2003, at Winston Medical Center. Burial will be in Coy Methodist Church Cemetery in Neshoba County. Survivors include her daughters, Pearlie Thomas of Heidelberg, Anita Anderson and Eleanor Chickaway, both of Conehatta, and Norma Thompson of Philadelphia a son, Genis Charles Shumake of Philadelphia sisters, Jeffery Solomon of Philadelphia, Lolee Anderson, Odie Anderson and Dorothy Chapman, all of Conehatta 37 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren. Shumake, 71, of Conehatta, died Monday, June 16, 2003, in Conehatta. Milling Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. UNION Services for Janie Denson Shumake will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home in Newton and 30 minutes prior to the service at the church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lovett Cater. Survivors include her sister, Claudie Mae Loper of Brandon a great-niece, Ann Munn of Newton and several nieces, nephews, and loving and devoted care givers. She was a member of Sulphur Springs Baptist Church. Cater, 101, of Conehatta, died Tuesday, June 17, 2003, at The Specialty Hospital of Meridian. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Stephens Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Stephens (Calie) of Collinsville daughter, Kay Stephens Burrage of Meridian grandchildren, Tammy K. Stephens is survived and will be greatly missed by her children sons, Wayne Keith (Kessie) Stephens, Tommy C. Although we grieve her absence, we rejoice, celebrate and take comfort in knowing that she is in her heavenly home. Her persistent and unwavering faith, her dedication and sacrifice for her family, her sweet and gentle ways, and her fearless endurance will never be forgotten. Stephens was a member of First Presbyterian Church. Stephens was employed with the Merchants & Farmers Bank of Meridian for 34 years. One who loved to talk to people and never met a stranger. She will always be remembered as a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmaw, and great grandmaw. Stephens, age 96, passed away on Saturday, Decemat the Queen City Nursing Center. Burial will be at Meridian Memorial Park. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Services for Jewell Virginia Stephens will be held Tuesday, Decemat 10:00 a.m.
